How to Setup Social Media Pages

Creating Social Media Pages

The first step to creating your social media pages is to decide which networks you’re going to be using. The most popular networks are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Google+.

  • Start with the networks that your customers are using most. For example if a large percentage of your business is focused on females between the ages of 25-35 then start with Instagram as this platform skews towards this demographic. It’s also important for businesses that have physical locations because people want to know who they are dealing with so Facebook will be essential for building relationships with potential customers and creating brand awareness in general but it isn’t necessary if all you do is sell online or over the phone (although I would recommend having at least one page).
  • Your profile picture is what people see first when they visit your page so make sure it looks professional and portrays an accurate representation of what you do! If possible try using some kind of branding like an image or logo instead of just an image of yourself since it may be more appealing than seeing someone who could potentially look strange without their glasses (or worse yet without their teeth) staring back at them while they browse through posts from other brands that give off bad vibes because their owners aren’t taking care of themselves properly either physically or mentally (i’m talking about those people out there who keep posting pictures where they look like zombies). Also avoid being too close up since it can come across as creepy!

Sign up for your brand’s Facebook page, Twitter account, Instagram page, Pinterest page and Google+ page.

Before you can start posting content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, you’ll need to create a profile for your brand. Make sure that the name of your business is the same across all social media platforms. For example, if I were to create a profile for my social media consulting business called Let’s Get Social Consulting Inc., I would use “Let’s Get Social Consulting Inc.” as my business name when signing up for each social network.

Next up: make sure that you use the same profile picture and cover photo across all platforms that you’re using. You don’t want to have different photos across channels because it will be confusing for people who come across them; they won’t know which one is official!

Finally—and this is important!—include your website URL in your profile description (under About). This will help drive traffic back to where people can learn more about what you do and see examples of what kind of work you produce (if applicable).

Before you start posting any content to your pages, you should fill out all of the social networks’ profile sections. Make sure to fill out each section completely with information about your company, products or services and the benefits you provide for your target market.

Your first step in setting up your social media pages is to fill out all of the social networks’ profile sections. Make sure to fill out each section completely with information about your company, products or services and the benefits you provide for your target market.

The main aspects to consider are:

  • Profile picture
  • Profile description
  • Background image (if available)
  • Links to other social media accounts owned by the same company or user/company
  • Links to other content created by the user/company

Create an impactful logo or graphic for your social profile pictures.

A logo or graphic is the first thing people see when they visit your social media pages. It’s important that you create an impactful image that will attract followers and convey the essence of your brand.

Your logo should be square in shape to fit nicely on all social network profile pictures, but there are other considerations as well:

  • Choose a high-quality photo that represents what you do best.
  • Be sure it’s identifiable at smaller sizes so it can be used in small areas on smartphone apps, desktop computers and tablets alike.

Profile pictures need to be unique and stand out from other users’ profiles.

Your company’s profile picture should not only be unique, but also stand out from other users’ profiles. The important thing to keep in mind when choosing your profile picture is that it needs to match your brand and be professional. You shouldn’t have too busy a background or too plain of one either; you want something that will catch people’s attention but not be distracting from the content you’re sharing on social media.

You’ll also want to make sure that all of your social media accounts have the same image so they are consistent with each other and reinforce your company brand across all platforms.

Your business Facebook cover photo should display a creative image that draws in viewers’ attention and entices them to learn more about your business.

When creating the ideal Facebook cover photo, you’ll want to keep these tips in mind:

  • The recommended dimensions for the size of your cover photo are 851 x 315 pixels. This allows for larger text than other dimensions and provides great visibility on mobile devices when users are scrolling through their newsfeeds. The key is not to have text or graphics that take up too much space on screen. Instead, focus on using an eye-catching image that appeals to its viewers’ sense of sight instead of filling up the entire screen with words or images (which can cause irritation).
  • Your cover photo should be changed regularly so it reflects new promotions or events happening at your business location(s). For example, if you’re having a sale event at one location but not another location–then include both locations in each post!

On Twitter, you can use either an image or a short video as a cover photo. Be sure that it is clean and professional looking like your Facebook cover photo.

When it comes to your Twitter cover photo, you can use either an image or a short video. Be sure that it is clean and professional looking like your Facebook cover photo. Include a logo, or something else that identifies your business. The goal is to have the cover photo look consistent with the tone of your business so be sure to choose wisely!

If you choose a landscape orientation for your profile picture, make sure that your cover image also has landscape orientation so they are consistent with each other.

You will want to create a minimum of five new images or graphics per week that can be posted on Instagram. With Instagram, it’s important to include hashtags in your captions since they are searchable. For example: #Chicago #Business #Marketing

Pinterest is all about graphics, so you will want to create 10 new images per week to schedule pins of. Be sure to use hashtags on these pins as well as searchable keywords that would attract customers in your target market. For example: #RealEstate #HomeSelling #MovingTips

Reddit is a little different from the other social media platforms as it has multiple sub-reddits (groups) that cater to specific topics such as finance and food, or even more specific ones like [food]. To post something on Reddit, you can create an account or use one of your existing accounts (Twitter/Facebook). You’ll need the URL of what you’re posting (i.e., something that has already been posted), then just click “Submit A Link” and put in the URL and hit submit!
